Macs are a good buy, not just from a hardware point of view, but because of the software that comes included at no extra cost. Consider iPhoto. You can make even a mediocre snapshot look very good with the easy-to-use tools that are built in.
Don’t miss the “adjust” button at the end of the editing toolbar. Look at all the control you have, just by adjusting the sliders. You could spend hours learning Photoshop, not to mention a lot of dollars, and still not achieve better results.

OK, Barry, it’s true… but only as a leftover from my working days. I haven’t got the latest Photoshop… and I sure wouldn’t buy the full application at Adobe prices when I can do so much with what Apple provides for free. (I might have bought Photoshop Essentials, though, if I didn’t already own CS3).
