Email Tips

Sending to multiple addresses

  • Put your list of addresses into the Bcc: box, separated by commas. If you use the Cc: box, everyone who receives the message will be able to see all of the addresses (and that’s poor etiquette).
  • Everyone will see the address used in the first To: box, so use your own email address there.
  • Send multiple messages in smallish batches of 20 or so, or you might be mistaken for a spammer.

Where’s my Bcc: box?

If it’s not showing below the Cc: box, reveal it by clicking on the little rectangle icon in the lower left corner of the new message header.

Use an Apple Mail template

  • Open a new message window and look in the upper right corner of the header for a Show Stationery button. Click to reveal choices. Click a choice and your blank email window takes on the design. Replace the dummy copy with your own.
  • If the template allows for photos, drag your own into the placeholders. Get choices from your iPhoto library by clicking the Photo Browser button next to the Show Stationery button (upper right corner)
Use Mail Help
  • Lots of answers are available in the top Mail menu bar.
